These air fryer potato cubes are crispy on the outside and soft inside. Made with just 5 ingredients and very little oil, ready in 40 minutes.
- 2 potatoes
- ⅛ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Oil for spray
Peel the potatoes and cut them into small, even cubes. Put the cubes in a bowl of cold water and soak for 20 minutes.
Drain and pat them completely dry with a kitchen towel. Wet potatoes will not crisp up.
Add the dried potatoes to a mixing bowl. Add paprika, black pepper, and salt. Spray oil over everything and mix well with your hands or a spatula until every piece is coated.
Preheat your air fryer at 200°C (400°F) for 2 to 3 minutes.
Place the potato cubes in the air fryer basket in one single even layer. Do not stack them. Air fry at 180°C (360°F) for 12 to 15 minutes. Toss them a few times during cooking so all sides get even color. Every air fryer runs a little differently, so start checking at 12 minutes.
Serve hot with your favorite sauce.
- Pat the potatoes completely dry after soaking. Any moisture left will prevent them from getting crispy.
- Always cook in a single layer. Stacking traps steam and makes them soft.
- Toss 2 to 3 times during cooking for even color on all sides.
- Cooking time varies by air fryer model. Start checking at 12 minutes.
